1. 100% Offline & Local Storage

Your Khata is built with a "Privacy-First" approach. We do not have any cloud servers, and we do not upload, sync, or store your financial data on the internet. All data (ledgers, expenses, contacts) is stored 100% locally and securely on your device's internal storage.

2. Use of Accessibility Services

Our app requests the Accessibility Service API strictly for the purpose of automating expense tracking. When enabled, this service detects successful payment screens on popular UPI apps (like GPay, PhonePe, and Paytm) to suggest adding an expense entry automatically.

• We DO NOT read your passwords, PINs, or sensitive banking details.
• We DO NOT send any screen data to the internet. The detection happens completely offline.
• This permission is entirely optional and can be disabled at any time.

3. SMS Permissions

The app may request SMS reading permissions solely to detect bank debit messages for automatic expense logging. Like all other data, SMS data is processed locally and never transmitted externally.

4. Data Backup

Since we do not store your data on our servers, it is your responsibility to use the in-app "Backup" feature to securely export your data (JSON/CSV) to your own Google Drive or local storage.
